Don't stick your magnet in the black sands. Make them come to the magnet, especially in water, and the gold will be left behind. Make your own pedastal from a plastic cap (pictured above). Sava a ton of time. A strong, rare earth magnet (N52) sealed in a flotable container. This fits in your pocket. Use it in several ways.
